Praveen Kumar (born Praveen Kumar Sobti 6 December 1947) is an athlete and film actor. Bhim in the epic Mahabharata serial in 1988,  he “played the role  and Acted   in Hindi films .He received the Arjuna award by the Indian athletics in 1960 and participated in the 1970 Asian games Praveen Kumar Sobti height 6.7”, His events were Hammer and discus throws.  the double gold medal winner in the discus in  1970 and 1966  Asian games and his Asian Games record was 56.76 meters. In 1974 Asian Games, the 1966 Commonwealth Games in Kingston and Tehran won the silver medals he competed In the 1968,1972 Summer Olympics

He contested in 2013 Delhi assembly elections, on AAP ticket, but lost. Subsequently, in 2014, joined in the BJP
