Captain Kohli opens the secrets, hence making bouncy pitch in the series with Sri Lanka

Nagpur: The spinners have been the strength of Team India, especially when the series is happening at home. But surprised everyone by seeing the way the pitch played in Kolkata. There was no grass on the pitch but on the fifth day there was a good bounce in the pitch. India’s first innings was reduced to a score of 172 and if Captain Virat Kohli did not score a century in the second innings, then India could have lost the match by hand.

On Friday, the second match of the series is going to begin and on this occasion Kohli has opened the secrets to the pitch. Kohli said that due to lack of time to prepare for the tour of South Africa, the team management had no choice except to request to make bouncyly pitches in the current series against Sri Lanka.
On asking if he had asked for bouncy pitches, Kohli said, “Yes, because two days after the end of this series we have to leave for South Africa. Apart from the pitches we had on that tour, there was no choice but to play on similar pitches. We could get a break of one month if we could get a better break but now that situation is there, we have to make preparations. ”

The Indian team will play the final one day against Sri Lanka on December 24, and on December 27 it will be to South Africa. Kohli said that the team needs to prepare differently for the big series, so there should be a break between the two series. He said, “In the future, we have to pay attention to this because we start to assess the team on the foreign tour but do not see how much time we got for the preparation.”

The Indian captain said, “People come to assess the players after the results come after the results. It should not be so. It should also be seen that we wanted to prepare like we did, whether we got an opportunity or not. We felt that this is the only chance to prepare for facing the challenges ahead. ”

Kohli also said that Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja can not guarantee the place in the final eleven on foreign tour because they will work with the same spinner. “I can not guarantee a hundred percent on the foreign tour that we will come with two spinners. We have to see the balance of the team too. These two are the claimants of the last XI in the Test match due to their batting ability but anti-batsmen will also have to watch. ”

He said, “It must be understood that if a left-handed spinner is bowling to five batsmen of the right hand or the off-spinner is putting the ball to the four ropes batsmen. There is a lot of difference from the angle of the ball and in the Test match it can be a spell heavy. These are small things on which the spinner will be selected on the foreign tour. ”

Spinners have taken more than 100 wickets since the first Test in 2008 in Jamtha, but will not be taken into consideration when selecting the last XI yesterday. Kohli said, “It does not matter because you also have to see what type of wicket you are playing on. The previous record does not matter because the wickets have changed now.
